I am amazed how much we take for granted. I forget that we do
live in Hawaii! Here are some photos I snapped from our quick trip to North Shore. Our first stop was North Shore's most popular shave ice store, Matsumotos! We waited in that long line to get our delicious island treats! Some of the local style syrup flavors included: Pineapple, Lilikoi, Guava, Coconut, Li Hing Mui, Honey Dew Melon, Watermelon! With a scoop of vanilla ice cream, and topped with condensed milk!!! LOVE!
Next stop, Haleiwa.. We had picked up some local food at a nearby grocery store and had a nice, relaxing picnic with our family at Haleiwa Beach Park. Among our local delectables were: kimchee tako & fish poke, rice, and huli huli chicken... we enjoyed our mini trip up to that side of the island.
Haleiwa Beach, Hawaii
The most popular place on the island to get the "best" shave ice.
The line; so maybe it wasn't as long as I thought..
Beach mats for sale everywhere you go..
